Coming From the grassroots I feel threatened at all times. I shrug off all types of threats. I know some people have been enjoying their status without criticism. Well all that is over as we race to the finish line. As I approach the finish line I can tell you that I've seen it all. I got some family and friends in the pen that's never going to see the light of day. My people and their people would've got them the Cochran Firm if our paper was right. Don't worry KMT will hold it down for our dogs. KMT is serious and focused and way over due. I'm trying to be here to see my seeds when they have their seeds. As long as it's on paper then I still breathe. I just want to say that there's nothing in the world that they can't be. Many years I slipped up and didn't cast my vote. My grassroots work is an art and I'm better than smart. I uplift with a style that wasn't taught. In this world I fear no one. Albert Einstein whose teachers had written him off as a failure and said it best: "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil but because of the people who don't do anything about it." KMT vows to do something that's unstoppable. Even if it kills me I'm going to ride till I collide with these sellouts!

When I was a part of KMT we lead a grassroots movement in hopes of stirring the masses to realize we are in a state of political, social, cultural and educational down spiral. We represent the young lions who were not nurtured in the political system by our local leaders. When the young lions have to get their training on their own they will challenge the old lions for a chance to lead the pride. After seeing what happened in the last election and failure to fulfill promises of empowerment those at the grassroots level decided to fill the gap. The empowerment that we will do is give them a voice. What the poor are talking about on the streets is what we will report. With a changing city it's become evident that we as African-Americans must have a mental revolution of how we can uplift all areas of our awareness and take advantage of economic opportunities in this city. With all the complaints that we have against this city it's also true that we are doing things that are socially, culturally and educationally self-inflicted. We must come to terms with our own failures. Blaming others for our problems is just as silly as trying to stop the grassroots voice. KMT was the miracle grow to grassroots activism. With our voices we fired upon leaders even when we weren't fired upon. It's a political jungle out there but we some silver back gorillas! KMT testified with action and started the Write or De Newsletter which was a great success! Words of old make us more than beginners!

Feel Our Pain

It was a record year for child support collections in the state of Alabama with collections totaling $281 million in 2006 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30. The total broke last year's record of $272 million. Appeal To Duty 101

It's a sad state of affairs in the black community on or off this campus. Our history tells us that we came from a people who loved helping each other. Our African presence has been felt all around the world like ancient China and Mexico and Egypt. Everyone heard of the world trade center, well at our glorious height Africa was the trade center. What caused our fall from a major financial and cultural greatness is the same thing that haunts us today within our race down to this campus (Alabama A&M University) environment. This thing is infighting but when things get out of hand, infighting will arise to combat extremist. A leader must have the courage to step up and debate the issues. In less than 100 years we were broken down mainly by the , "House Negro Syndrome" since then certain blacks have had it in their hearts and minds that in order to be someone you have to step on someone else or hold them back or not help them break this black glass ceiling. We owe it to our ancestors to try and to restore Africa and it starts with people being and fostering strong leaders here in America. We all know that William Hooper Councill was a former slave so we must ask ourselves, what would Councill do concerning the African continent if he were alive today? We must compare ourselves to other black colleges in terms of political activism. We must end the glorifying of our positions and using them to hurt each other and actually the struggle. The way we act now is a farcical but the joke is on us. To talk about real issues one must have courage and an open mind. It's 2007 and it still can be seen that our people dislike someone(Marcus Echols) or a group(UHURU Movement) when they speak their mind or examine their actions. When you are elected, you will be questioned and not everyone will agree with you. As a leader, you should know that you can't please all the people all the time. The sign of a good leader is one who is able to see both sides and not close out the other due to special interests or the generation gap. When you close out the true frustrations of the people and in some cases students you lose credibility and respect. You're not a leader when you only think about yourself and disregard the aspirations of the people who elected you. Yes, your reward will be great if you bow to special interests but current and future leaders and students will refer to you as they have referred to past elected leaders (ineffective). This is an Appeal To Duty, To Do What Leaders Are Supposed To Do.

Are Some Mothers Dangerous To Children? (From FATHERS RIGHTS ACTIVISTS)

The answer is YES... When it comes to proven child abuse, contributing to sexual abuse of children, murdering our children, are doing most of the divorcing, and the greatest insult of all... they're rewarded for it with free food, free legal Aid, free shelter, tax-deductions, and billions in Child Support! The government actually pays mom's to do this. Are they really to blame for this? Is the government rewarding abuse to our children to force dad's to work multiple jobs to pay of the national debt? Or is it due to a media that caters to entitlement and ignores the working class....blaming father's when numbers fail to prove their bias? Do not lose sight of Ted Turner's 1 billion dollar bribe to the U.N. so Jane could take the world stage to suggest our obese children are starving...100% of the perpetrators of fetal alcohol syndrom are women." But are they really to blame for this, too? Who here wants to legislate a behavior in a free society? If alcohol kills kids, then ban alcohol....which we know will never happen, just as it's legal to smoke, yet the government punishes smokers. We are in a government that promotes drinking, smoking, and gambling...because if people don't get drunk, smoke, and gamble.... the lawmakers don't get paid. Same with dad's once those revenues do go down, it seems to be in most everyone's best interest to simply remove all father's from the home and make them work multiple jobs to stay out of jail just to fatten lawmakers paychecks (more tax revenue)! There's simply no incentive for the government to discontinue this....Telling mom's not to poison their unborn children is identical to the abortion debate...it will never work. Besides, it's basically unconstitutional for mom's to punish father's for up to 30 years after that child is born. Women control the vote, like they control birth rights, an insult to a child who is from a mother AND a father. Same with the concept of "family", or wealth of custody, like the imbalanced gender poplulation..."Equality" seems to mean what's hers is hers, and what's his is hers. The majority stockholders run this company, who are slowly bleeding nearly half the population to death!

How Judge Breland and DHR destroyed My Children's Lives

As a result of Judge Breland's harsh and arrogant judgements against me my children's lives have suffered. He has caused me to lose several jobs while I was paying child support. My current job in the only job that understands my situation and has not fired me whenever the Judge Breland and Morgan county DHR has demanded large sums of money that they know I don't have. The judge and DHR had created an environment whereas my children hated me at one point. At every turned DHR pushed the mother of my children to ask for increases in support when my income hadn't changed. Mothers are allowed to keep the child away from the fathers and playing head games that Judge Breland doesn't take seriously. In the mind these games are VERY serious and could lead to dangerous consequences for all involved. The mother of my child was allowed to destroy her education by kicking her out of the house the night before the high school exit exam. After that incident my teenage daughter quit school. I currently work for a university and my children could attend college for free but Judge Breland and DHR wants to make me lose that job and destroy their future as well. He (Judge Breland) doesn't care about that because it's just another black generation destroyed and that serves the agenda of the children of former slave masters. Now after 18 years it's apparent that my children lives were hurt by Judge Breland and DHR's involvement. I'm the only hope my children have is a relationship with a parent that has always been there from them and who now tell a different story about their father. Judge Breland and DHR needs to look at the whole person and not just what's in their pockets. It was this reason and many more that my child acted out. African-Americans have had enough of profiteering off our children, causing friction in our family structure for the financial gain of the state. During all of Judge Brelands and DHR's involvement my child now young adults would testify that they never saw any of the money. They will say that 98% of what their mother's said about me was false. Only time will tell if Judge Breland and Morgan County DHR will succeed in destroying my life. I will organize to get our people to see what they're doing to us in the Morgan county court system!

Ethics Complaint Against Commissioner Robert "Bob" Harrison

Please be advised that Commissioner Robert "Bob" Harrison is an elected official of Madison County of District Six in the state of Alabama. This official is in violation of the Code of Alabama 1975, Code of Ethics for Public officials, employees, section 36-25-5 (A)-Use of official position for personal gain. Commissioner Harrison is the owner of Northwest Huntsville Community Service Organization, Inc. Please note the following:

(1) Around September 19, 2005 Commissioner Bob Harrison opened the doors of his company called Northwest Community Learning Center that is a program under Northwest Huntsville Community Service Organization, Inc. He used state funds to operate this organization for the private benefit of his daughter, Mrs. Lynda Harrison Gaines, who works at the center and is on Madison County payroll. These are acts of pass through funds. Mrs. Gaines acts as if she is a county employee, but she is really a Northwest Community Learning Center employee working for her father, Commissioner Bob Harrison. He did this by acts of fraud and conversion of state funds.

(2) Commissioner Harrison violated the Code of Ethics 36-25-5 (B) and voted on a motion or resolution at eh County Commission meeting to give Northwest Community Learning Center around $20,000 year for educational purposes, which is under the direction of his corporation called northwest Huntsville Community Service Organization, Inc. (Northwest). Commissioner Harrison needed donations from a variety of organizations to meet the requirements of IRS 501 C (3) or (b) with corporate contributions to that are deductible under section 170 C (2) of the Internal Revenue Code, etc. Also this is a violation of the Code of Ethics 36-25-5.

(3) Commissioner Harrison is in violation of the Code of Ethics 36-25-5 (c) by using county employees to work for his corporation (Northwest) which is under his discretion and control and benefits him personally. Commissioner Harrison used county workers to deliver county material and equipment which is public property under his control to his facility that is located at 3404-A blue Springs Road, Huntsville, AL. 35810. The telephone number is (256) 851-7242, fax (256) 858-0983. This property is also paid with county funds and financially benefits his organization and personal interest.

(4) Commissioner Harrison is in violation of Code of Ethics 36-25-5 (d) by using county employers, equipment, facilities, time, materials, human labor, and other public property for his personal private benefit and for his family members and his corporation (narrowest). He set up an operation by using county employees and county employees and county, state funds. The following is a list of county employees illegally working for commissioner Harrison's corporation (Northwest Community Learning Center):

Dr. Olivia Sanders, Cynthia Cotton, Felicia Kaigler, Kecia Lambert, Sara King, Pauline Occomy, Dr. Katie Byrd, Lynda Harrison Gaines, Michelle Young, Carl Fallin (accounting firm), Jo Miley, Diane Kirnes, Tim Easly, and Micheal Lacy work for Northwest and are District Six employees. Commissioner Harrison's organization benefits from all of this as personal gain.

(5) Commissioner Harrison is in violation of the Code of Ethics 36-25-5 (f). He had a substantial financial interest by reason of ownership of Northwest Huntsville Community Service Organization, Inc. and the Northwest Community Learning Center. Commissioner Harrison appeared to be 100% owner of these operations which operated under District Six under Commissioner Harrison's control. the Northwest Board of Directors if controlled by Commissioner Harrison to complete a lot of work for him at District Six and Northwest. Sonji Patterson worked for District Six and also is the President of Northwest Board of Directors. Commissioner Harrison has 100% interest and external control of District Six and Northwest Huntsville Community Service Organization, Inc. and Northwest Community Learning Center. Commissioner Harrison has a conflict of interest that exists between these business entities for personal gain.

In conclusion, Commissioner Harrison has used his position as County commissioner of District Six for personal gain and deceived the voters about the reason and methods why he opened Northwest Community Learning Center. He did not open Northwest for the good of the people or their children, but for his own personal gain buy using tax payer's dollars and equipment, facilities, time, material, human labor and other public property for his private benefit of his family.

Commissioner Harrison should resign as County Commissioner of District Six effectively immediately to preserve the integrity of this office. He should resign to keep some respect of the people that voted for him and to keep from continuing to disgrace this office with his acts of malfeasant.

When Commissisoner Harrison was a candidate for Commissioner, he accused former Commissioner, Prince Preyer, Jr. of the same acts and methods. He also said that he would step down if he did the same thing as Prince Preyer, Jr. We are asking the County Commissioner Chairman to restructure Northwest Community Learning Center under a different entity so that the change would not affect the people it serves until this can be resolved. Commissioner Harrison should not continue to benefit from this situation. All state and county funds should be transferred back to the tax payers of District Six. Commissioner Harrison should be made to pay back over $50,000 of tax payer dollars that were misused for personal gain or they should be paid back from his personal account.

Quid Pro Quo the voters need to know their donations to other 501 (c) organizations by Commissioner Harrison was received and given back to Commissioner Harrison. The accounting firm that Carl Fallin owns manages the budget for both District Six and Northwest Huntsville Community Service Organization, Inc. As a Certified Public Accountant, he cannot be involved in acts of fraud and records will reflect his involvement in these matters. Mr. Fallin is getting paid for his services to District Six and Northwest Huntsville Community Service Organization, Inc. with tax payer dollars. As taxpayer, please look into this situation as soon as possible!

UHURU means: FREEDOM

Uhuru means freedom. The International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM) is a grassroots organization, led by the black working class community. It was founded in 1991 in Chicago by the African People's Socialist Party. In their platform they demand: community control of police in the African-American community and the immediate withdrawal of the terroristic police & military forces from the African community. They hold weekly meetings at the Richard Showers Center (4600 Blue Springs Road) on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. To learn more: inpdum.org or contact KOBINA31@yahoo.com. My message to the uhuru is that if they want more local membership and support research some local issues in the black community her in Huntsville. From KMT involvement with the grassroots we've heard some citizens talk about "fishy" deaths of young black males at the hands of HPD. RESEARCH and talk to people locally. Ask about a death on the railroad tracks! Some video footage of cops harassing people in the project areas exists. They say late at night police can be observed harassing anyone walking down the sidewalks. Residents are told to go back inside their apartments if they are just making sure that an African-American is not abused when over zealous officers approach. I appeal to the UHURU movement to get in the streets to stop foolish talk like using roadside bombs on these cops. I know the UHURU feel as I do that this is the wrong answer! Some southern repubiklans seem to want blacks to think that they welcome them into the party. Yes we know that they are the party of Lincoln. Conservative Christians are also the ones who used to the southern bible belt to justify slavery. Repubiklans have to understand that we know: We were freed because of a gnawing of some impending disaster, because of a oil becoming rapidly impoverished, because of the new logic of the life that came in the wake of the clanking machines-it was all these things, and not the strength of moral ideals alone, that lessened the the grip of the Lords of the Land upon us. We black men and women in Alabama and America today, as we look back upon scenes of rapine, sacrifice, and death, seem to be chilren of a devilish aberration, descendants of an interval of nightmare in history,fledglings of period of amnesia on the part of men who once dreamed a great dream and forgot. * Just as feminism has challenged patriarchy and shown how patriarchy and androcentrism warp the world for everyone, men as well as women, so black scholars must challenge the Eurocentric mind set not only for the sake of the black community but also for the health of all scholarship. KMT is getting tired of our leaders saying it causes division to discuss these issues. We believe that's a deflection!
