Bloodless Political Revolution

What these local and national leaders failed to do was embrace the culture of youn African-Americans as 2004 saw the largest increase in voters. Instead of pumping more money into grassroots organizations that got out that vote they retreated. No longer will the grassroots be pawns in the political game, Operation From The Bottom has a machine in place which sole mission is to represent and fight for the poor. Young African-Americans shouldn't just register to vote, they should run for office. We need to turn more to the leaders that we have at the grassroots level. There and only there will we see the collective strength of our people as a whole. On the grassroots level when we unite behind a common cause it proves we're unstoppable. The only disappointing thing is the efforts are not sustaining because once our objective is complete we break apart retreating to our boxed in lives. I say this because we need eachother on the grassroots all the time day in and day out. The generation gap has caused our elder African-Americans to be blindsided by the creativeness in hip hop music and culture. They failed to see that it was birthed from an awkward time in our culture development and social freedom of expression. Hip hop has become an international culture complete with all the aspects of a society but many African-Americans are brainwashed to automactically reject it. As with all things there's some good and some bad. We got to take them both use it to uplift our people.

Commissioner Robert "Bob" Harrison Has Let Us Down!

The Commissioner is trying every trick in the book to stay in his seat. This desperate attempt is useless since he sits on pens and needles. The commissioner needs to stop spreading rumors that KMT is doing this for the white man. That is so ridiculous because the grassroots knows all we do to shed light on things our people go through when it comes to "institutional arrogance" such as in Huntsville police forces. Of course we know about some of the officers who look like us but are nothing but " black red necks." We say this because some of the black officers try to impress white officers out on the "beat" and they should be ashamed of themselves. Young African-Americans should be ashamed of themselves also because "saggin" spell backwards is no longer spoken per Jessie Jackson and others so pull ya damn pants up! Commissioner Harrison should stop his vicious lies about KMT and address what he has done to bur the citizens of district six. Citizens of district six should take a close look at the current Commissioner. When will district six get real leadership and stop being a political dumping ground for corruption? Stay tuned..... A KMT official as asked him to resign.

THE ELECTIONS ARE OVER! NOW WHAT?

What can the people on the grassroots level expect now? I hope it's not the same thing which is empty rhetoric. Let's not hope locally that our newly election politicians forget the struggle. The struggle to elect someone that will put our needs first instead of falling in love with politics. The loved at first sight can cause them to forget the motivation that inspired voters to show up at the poles. Some may even look at the numbers that didn't vote and assume that they don't owe the voters anything. This last election should serve as a lesson not only to the republicans but also the democrats. Many young African-Americans truly feel as though the democrats have taken their votes for granted. It seems that when it's election time they talk about our kitchen table issues to falsely motivate us. Once elected their only concern is staying in office even at the cost of selling us out! The situation is to the point that African-Americans are talking about leaving the democratic party. The arrogant politicians don't think that it can be done but the timing is right! I hope African-Americans don't have to go there but if they do it would be interesting. This would be the most powerful motivator because our trust is fading. As we saw with Michael Steele as a republican black will support the policy and not the party! Local democrats and statewide democrats performed badly in this election while the rest of the country they had the right election plan. There's a difference between northern democrats and southern democrats is that northern democrats do more for racial, social and cultural justice. Southern democrats had better get off the pot and get in step with the rest of the country.

The Results Are In!

Everyone knew that if Govenor Bob Riley wins then Troy King would win with the exception of Lucy Baxley and John Tyson. The reason: The Democratic Party failed to address issues near and dear to African-Americans such as allabama's Prison Industrial Complex. African-Americans in Alabama will only turn out to vote if leaders show us leadership. I say this because when John Tyson came to Alabama A&M University to discuss his plan of putting young children on some type of listing was ridiculous. We African-Americans are tired of being listed! Your political plan was ridiculous to the core and the Democratic Party should be ashamed of themselves. We're worried about the Alabama Prison Industrial Complex using African-Americans to fuel itself! We're worried about our Voting Rights being restored once we've paid our debt to society. This hypocrisy of saying we're in the bible belt should stop. It seems there's no forgiveness in this state! We're concerned about education getting cutbacks and cancellations while we're paying our debt to society. What hope do we have if we face criminal background checks which suggest to employers to deny us a second chance that forces us to work for little more than slave pay? We could benefit from learning a skill or achieving a degree and lessening our chances of returning to a life of crime. All these things and more explains why so many African-American democrats weren't excited by our candidate. It was more of the same except the nominee wanted to get children at a younger age into the Alabama Prison Industrial Complex. Democrats have got to stop being the wuzzie party and tackle these real issues no matter if it has race as a basis and then they can motivate the African-American community. If they fail to do this then the discussion should be for African-Americans to form their own third party based on our (democratic party) base: the grassroots!

Lucy Baxley lost for some of the same reasons that the candidate for Attorney General. She should've talked directly to African-Americans in Alabama and tolded them that she felt their pain about minimum wage and the racist constitution we have. Does she think that we don't discuss this from grassroots on up? You can't expect African-Americans to show up in big numbers for a candidate who will not have the courage to speak out about our most important issues.

Congratulations to Parker Griffith he's shown that we can elect new leadership for Alabama. He will be one of those leaders that will begin to heal some of our political wounds inflicted on us.

VOTE 2006

Govenor: Lucy Baxley is the best choice for govenor. We've just had too much of Bob Riley's double talk. Operation From The Bottom doesn't believe that Bob Riley has our community in mind when he does bushiness.
Lt. Govenor: Jim Folsom, Jr. is the best choice for this position in my view and I have a good feeling that our young African-Americans will turnout to vote.
Attorney General: Neither candidate is best for this position. The Reason: This position is for a candidate that will address the Alabama Prison Industrial Complex Machine! The Attorney General's office is more than locking people up and who can lock up more. Now don't get me wrong some people need to be locked up. We need an attorney general that will bring Alabama in line with the majority of the country when it comes to restoring voting rights! Both candidates would deny that racism plays out in courts all over Alabama. Both candidates will not address the racial disparity in Alabama prisons.
Senate District 7: Parker Griffith is the best choice for this job. After the republican candidate came to A&M and referred to the audience as Africans a lot of people were turned off. In that same speech she said she had "four of them working for her" referring to black employees.
Madison County Sheriff: Tommy Hooper is the best choice for this position. He would address many issues that African-Americans are concerned about such as: waste, deaths, rapes and murders in the jail. I think that he would not tolerate racism in the department or out on patrol. I will show my support at the poles on Tuesday and I encourage those who want change to do the same. We have a chance to bring some calmness to the situation.

Stay tuned for election comments on November 8, 2006* politics will not stop after the election. We will get back to empowering the community in phase two of the struggle.

Who Should Young African-Americans Vote For locally?

Comming This Thursday: KMT's Poitical Picks For Young African-Americans Who Want To Empower Grassroots Efforts!

All Poor Blacks Left Behind Act 2002

KMT is concerned whether or not schools are blocking tutors for the poor. I'm no Roy Ann Moore but I do know that under law, free help supposed to be available for kids. Furthermore; we don't have to be advocates to see what's going on. Low-income parents are supposed to get a free tutor for any child who goes to a school that gets federal poverty aid but has not made steady progress for three straight years. KMT would like to see teachers and politicians stop talking about education and provide some figures. Many times speeches, reports and pleas about education is made with no stats to let us know where we stand. Many local parents would be shocked to learn that they also get to pick the tutor they want-even a private on from a state list. Maybe giving the parents this much decision making is too much for some educators to stomach. This is wrong because only 11% of eligible children, or 226,000 out of nearly 2 million that qualify received tutoring in the 2004 school year. Because data collection is not always strong we must be concerned with the local effort to tutor the poor. Millions of eligible students aren't getting the services and this is wrong. The central pledge of the 2002 No Child Left Behind Act is a joke and empty words in the form of pledges. The low numbers of tutored students are not because of lack of interest but because some schools make getting help nearly impossible for these poor families. We should look the these three things: 1. Publicity that is so filled with jargon that parents don't understand it. 2. Registration held in the middle of the work day when most poor parents are working. 3. Difficulties for tutors to get some space inside schools, or even for them to talk directly to teachers. Let's see how we can how we can uplift our the poor by using all educational tools available.

Grassroots Martyrdom

We search for grassroots martydom. It is our destiny to make a great sacrifice to advance the grassroots cause. The grassroots cause is for the common man. This is the man who doesn't have someone who will lift them out of despair. In this race to the finish line we accept nothing less than a full disclosure of what the people without a voice want to say. If you don't know what they have to say then you have got beside yourself yourself. Since you've gotten beside yourself KMT demands that you tell yourself to get out of your on way! It's totally ridiculous for us to be holding onto leadership that we know is past its course. In this last day and age KMT refuses to deny, smile in the face of, white wash, uphold and speak for failed leadership! This is a mad dash for the political finish line and we've outpaced the competition. It's GRASSROOTS FOR LIFE!

Even If It Kills Me

Coming from the grassroots we feel threatened at all times. We shrug off all types of threats. We know some people have been enjoying their status without criticism. Well all that is over as we race to the finish line. As we approach the finish line we can tell you that We've seen it all. We've got family and friends in the state pen that's never going to see the light of day. My people and their people would've got them the Cochran Firm if our money was right. Don't worry KMT is going to hold them down and teach a new generation. KMT is serious, focused and it's way over due that we speak up. We're all trying to be here to see our seeds when they have their seeds. As long as KMT is out there the movement still breathes! KMT knows that there's in the world that they can't be. Many years we as a people slipped up and didn't cast our vote. Our grassroots work is an art and we're better than smart. The reason is that we uplift with a style that wasn't taught by some uncle tom. KMT goes after evil corrupt people. Albert Einstein whose teachers had written him off as a failure said it best: "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil but because of the people who fail to do anything about it." KMT vows to do something about it and the something we do is unstoppable. Even if it kills us we're going to write or die. On this course we're set for a collision with sellouts. The empowering we do threatens their way of making under the table deals to sell poor people out. We're qualified to analyze and trained ourselves as relentless grassroots activists racing toward the finish line. When we mention helping the grassroots some say that it's dangerous and say that we should be trying to get any seat at the table. KMT is about sit the grassroots at the head of the table or there's going to be a political food fight unless we're at the head of the table. The movement that KMT has started will not be easily terminated and it's foolish to think or try it! These unlce toms and racist will only move on you if they know what your weaknesses is and KMT has NONE!

The Truth That BRAC Should Know.

With all the city of Huntsville officials talking up Huntsville's good qualities blacks have got to wonder. The mayor Lorretta Spencer is the head of this dangerous snake of prejudice and unfairness. Newcommers especially blacks should note the comments the mayor made about a so called black leader. The mayor of Huntsville is an example of what's wrong with this state. The problem is that racism still exits and we as blacks and also the incoming blacks should remember what the mayor said about a black person who stood up to her. It should also be noted that this isn't the first racial outburst from her. I know that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but when I see her in person or on T.V. I see a racist plain and simple. All Richard Showers did was make that boil to the surface. Blacks have dealt with racism for a long time and we know a racist when we see one! You see it in her face. Racial hate is hard to hide in ones face. The souls of black folks can detect the facial expressions of white racism and I think that most whites don't realize it's so obvious to us. When she made her statement and it became public and it was an out cry she did what all racist do, she ran to our churches. That attempt was a failure for two reasons: 1. She did it to win support from these uncle tom pastors 2. God knows her heart.

Commissioner Robert "Bob" Harrison Should Step Down

The current Commissioner should step down from his position since he has used it to fatten his and others pocket. He should be forced to pay back the public that he swindled out of thousands of dollars. When will African-American leaders in Huntsville wake the hell up and take a stand? They seem to all be in circle of power elite who want to control the black masses. Yes the have controlled the black masses in Huntsville, Alabama. The know nothing about inspiring leaders because they want to the only one who deals with the white power structure. Our people have become so power hungry that they seem to be nothing but information hogs. I see this with Richard Showers and Bob Harrison. It was really bad under Prince Preyer. Once again Laura Hall was unchallenged. This was a tragedy because her leadership in Montgomery. Alabama is a laughing stock and she has no real issues. The only reason she is down there making an ass of herself is because we as African-Americans can't see beyond the same ole tired leadership. This is hurting the future of children. It's time for Huntsville to go through a political revolution. In this revolution we must decide to move on these ineffective leaders and empower new young African-Americans and stop the practice of smothering out new voices. The old power structure feels threatened because they're nothing but tokens of the system. I challenge any of these politicians to debate the true facts concerning their leadership. These token leaders settle for token gains because they themselves are nothing but token leaders themselves!
