Where Is Huntsville African-American Leaders?
When it comes to African-American leaders who speak out on our behalf we're short. We're short because they are so stuck in the Civil Rights Movements of the sixties. The reason that you see little or no support from our youngest is because of these tired politicans who care about nothing but staying in office. At election time they become nervous about the positon that they hold so they go door to door trying to drum up votes. What's so obvious about all of this that once they do get elected they hide behind their desk and act as if their hands are tied behind their backs. Where is Richard Showers, SR? Where is Bob Harrison? These individuals are smiling during photo shoots but the citizens of district 6 and 1 feel betrayed by the campaign promises that have yet to be mentioned again after the election has passed. African-Americans in these districts must take a hard look at the leadership that has slid in the door with false promises of community uplift. We see the consoldidation of forces that hurt us and how desperate some candidates looked when needing our vote. The only thing that can change this is us keeping up pressure on these so called leaders. To join an effort to stop the hustle and step n fetch politics get out in the grassroots!

District 6: A political leadership dumping ground!
We have got to get more involved in the politics of district 6 where so much has happened to hurt economic empowering. It's also a district that is ripe for corruption and mismanagement. Many candidates made promises of inclusion of younger African-Americans in the political process. The leaders in district 6 worry more about how to stay in power than how to help the people. Well time is about to run out with KMT on the scene. What is KMT? It's an organization founded by Alabama A&M students who are putting pressure on leaders to perform. What makes them powerful? They have global support! Can they accomplish what they say? The are true to causes not new to it.
